2. Greek goddess - Athena

Athena was the goddess of reason, wisdom, and war. Athenas greatest accomplishment was providing the city an olive tree. At the time, Athena was in competition with Poseidon, who presented a saltwater spring, but it was established that Athena's gift held more value. Because of her victory in this contest, Athens was named after Athena.

Parthenon - built in 447 BC - located in Athens, Greece. The Parthenon was built to honor Athena, it was used as a place for people to gather and honor Athena with gifts, and try to win her over.
